Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Short version: we collect only what is needed to process your purchase and deliver your download. We do not track you, sell your data, or share it with anyone except PayPal (who handles the payment). Your piano playing never leaves your computer.

What we collect and why

When you buy Piano Mirror, PayPal provides us with your name, email address, and a transaction reference. We store these in a private database on our own server solely to:

We do not collect anything else. There are no cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels, and no advertising on this website.

The free XML Player

Using the XML Player on this website (piano-mirror.com/player/) involves no account, no login, and no data collection of any kind. The scores you load stay in your browser and are never sent to our server.

Your piano playing

Piano Mirror records your playing via your digital piano's USB-MIDI connection and compares it against the score on your own computer. This data is never sent over the internet. It is saved locally as MusicXML transcript files on your own machine, and only if you choose to save them.

Third-party services

Payment is processed by PayPal. When you click the PayPal button, you are interacting with PayPal's own systems, subject to PayPal's privacy policy. We receive only the name, email, and transaction reference described above — we do not receive or store your card details or full PayPal account information.

The Google Fonts used on this website are loaded from Google's servers, which may log your IP address as part of a normal web request. This is the only third-party request this website makes before any purchase.

How long we keep your data

Your purchase record (name, email, transaction reference, download link) is kept indefinitely so that we can re-issue your download link if you ever lose it. If you would like your record deleted, write to us and we will remove it — your download link will stop working as a result.

Your rights

Under Australian Privacy Law and, where applicable, the GDPR, you have the right to ask what data we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Write to [email protected] and we will respond promptly.
